House demolition and interior demolition
Whole houses, garages, pools and interiors
Some jobs are a full knockdown before a rebuild. Others are one garage, an old in-ground pool or a gutted kitchen. Each one starts the same way: we look at what is there, what has to stay and what the town will ask for.
The machines are ours, so the schedule is ours too. When the paperwork is in place, the work starts.

Jason looks at the job and tells you what is known and what isn't. The estimate is free.

What affects the cost of demolition
What moves the price
Size and access: square footage, height and how close a machine can get.
What’s inside: asbestos and other materials that need surveys or special handling.
What stays: foundation, slab, trees and neighboring structures.

Demolition before a rebuild
Taking it down to build again
If a new house is the plan, the demolition is step one of the build. ZDE does both, so the lot is cleared, graded and ready for the foundation without a handoff between contractors.
The two halves depend on each other. What comes out, what stays and how the ground is left all shape the dig and the foundation that follow. When one builder plans both, those decisions are made once.
You also keep one point of contact. Jason answers for the teardown and the build, and the scope, price and payment schedule for the whole job are in one written contract.

Demolition Questions
Questions, answered
Not answered here? Call and ask. You talk to the owner.
Do I need a permit to knock down my house?
Usually, yes. In Nassau County the town or village issues the demolition permit, and it asks for an asbestos survey, a rodent-free certificate, utility disconnect letters and an 811 mark-out notice first. We explain each step before anything comes down.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. Jason looks at the job and tells you what is known and what isn't.
Can you remove just a garage or a pool?
Yes. Partial jobs like a detached garage, a deck, a shed or an in-ground pool are part of the work.
What happens to the debris?
It is loaded and hauled away, and the lot is left clear for what comes next.
Can you build the new house too?
Yes. ZDE handles knockdown and rebuild, with one builder from demolition to the final walkthrough.
Do you work outside Nassau County?
No. ZDE works in Nassau County only.
